Women of Marine - June 4th

Women of Marine is an evening of inspiring talks, delicious locally sourced food and conversation that has been curated to bring together a fantastic community of women with a connection to the marine world.

It will be an opportunity for women to come together from sailors to scientists, boat builders to historians. Whether you are looking to start a career in the marine industry or you are a well established part of it we hope this will be an occasion to meet each other and grow our community.

The event with be held at the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club (Falmouth), from 5pm-onwards.


Food and Drink

When you arrive at the venue at 5pm you will be guided down to the water where you will collect your complimentary processo or soft drink from ‘Tethra.’ There will then be time to enjoy your drink and chat before the talks begin at 6pm.

Included within your ticket price is a delicious, locally sourced and freshly prepared Main course and dessert.

Guest Speaker

The first of our confirmed speakers is the incredible Jo Ruxton MBE.

Founder of the charity Ocean Generation, passionate ocean activist, marine conservationist and film maker. Ocean Generation is global movement  that exists to restore a healthy relationship between humanity and the Ocean, using education and young people as a catalyst for change.

Jo Ruxton worked for the WWF in Asia for 7 years, before joining the BBC Natural History Unit as a Producer, where she was a part of the celebrated Blue Planet Team. Much of her life has been spent filming underwater. She is a co-founder of Plastic Oceans Foundation, and a Producer of and Ambassador for the film A Plastic Ocean.
